Then it's lupus.  Lupus means wolf in Latin.  Some people with lupus have a pattern of circular lesions on their body that were thought to resemble wolf bites long ago.  Others have a rash across the nose and cheek areas, known as a butterfly or malar rash, which resembles the facial markings of a wolf.  Perhaps the butterfly was too soft an image for this potentially life-threatening disease.  On the other hand, some people with lupus have mild symptoms so that may help explain the butterfly connection.

Most of us have seen it, either on ourselves or others. Women and men have it, but it appears on women 90% of the time.  It looks like cottage cheese or the surface of an orange.  Aha!  Yes, it's cellulite. Now you know what I'm talking about - that dimpled skin that shows up most likely on your abdomen or thighs and is very hard to eliminate.

In recent years the role of alternative therapies in cancer care has transformed the way many patients cope with illness and related side of effects. An older paradigm suggested that cancer could only be effectively treated with traditional treatments like surgical resection, chemotherapy, and radiation therapy.
