January is typically the beginning of training for this race in Richmond. Walkers, beginning runners, and more advanced runners will participate. You may wonder how massage will help you while you are training for approximately 10 weeks.
Soreness immediately comes to mind, doesn't it? Massage has been shown to help decrease this soreness. Tension is also released from the body, which has been stressed while training. To speed recovery from these intense workouts, massage will help eliminate toxins/waste products from your body and expand your blood vessels so that nutrients and oxygen flow faster to your tissues so your body can repair and heal faster. Circulation increases as well.

Please make it your intention to get a massage from your favorite massage therapist!

I love massages. If I had my way, I'd get one every day. I'm sure they're particularly effective in helping you prepare for such a run.
